Rajinikanth, who announced that he will be venturing into politics, had given out his opinions on various issues. However, his party has not been officially launched yet. He also announced that he will not be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and his party’s target is the 2021 state assembly elections.

Meanwhile, when the Superstar arrived at Chennai after returning from the wedding function of Mukesh Ambani's son, he was questioned by the press regarding the elections. Since Rajinikanth had already stated that his aim is the 2021 elections, he was asked if he will compete in the by-elections at 21 constituencies, which will happen in the state soon. 

To the question, the superstar replied saying "No." The star had also asked the citizens to vote for the party which can solve the water problem in the state, in a previous press meet. He signed off in his car, saying "this is not the right time, sorry."

On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta. The star will be teaming up for his next with A.R.Murugadoss for the first time. The yet-to-be-titled project has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Santosh Sivan. Stay tuned for more updates.
