Popular Malayalam actor Kalasala Babu, who has acted in many popular films such as Runway, Thuruppu Gulan, Balettan and Pokkiri Raja. passed away during the late hours of Sunday (May 13). Babu was known for playing roles with negative shades realistically.

He was the son of  Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair. He made his debut in Ineya Thedi (1981). He was admitted to Amritha Hospital in Kochi following his heart ailments.

Reports suggest that he passed away due to cerebral hemorrhage. Our deepest condolences to his family and close ones.
