Jayasurya is one of the leading heroes of the Malayalam film industry. After starting his film career as a supporting actor, he soon graduated to become a hero, much to the delight of his fans. He is not at all unfamiliar to the Tamil audience having acted in Enmana Vaanil, directed by Vinayan. He also appeared as a cancer patient, counting his days in Kamal Haasan’s Vasoolraja MBBS.
He is currently starring in the Malayalam film Vellam where he is paired with Samyukta Menon. Jayasurya plays a drunkard. The film also has Siddique, Baiju, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Edavela Babu, Babu Annoor, Nirmal Palazhi, Sreelakshmi, Sneha Paleri, Priyanka, Johny Antony, Jins Bhaskar, Sunil Sainuddin and more as part of its cast. Prajesh directs Vellam.
The actor, fortunately, escaped unhurt in an accident during the shooting of the film. Jayasurya had to work with power tiller in one of the scenes in which things got out of control in a second and the film crew rushed to the actor’s aid before anything big and untoward could happen.
