Janhvi Kapoor speaks about her entry into films

Dhadak, an upcoming Bollywood film which is the official remake of Marathi film Sairat. The film is gathering high levels of expectations as legendary actress Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor is making her debut as a female lead in this film. At a recent interview, the actress opens up about her entry into films and the kind of relationship she shared with her mother.

When asked about which film of her mother's that inspired her the most and which she would like to recreate, she stated that

"I don’t think you can imitate anything of my mother. I have seen her on set and in English Vinglish and Mom. I would see her working, so just to see her make that switch as an actor – one second being my mom and yelling at me and the next second, giving a shot. That was the first time I realized there was something really special about her because I had not seen many of her films before that."

When asked whether her mom wanted her to pursue a different career, she stated that "My mother wanted me to become a doctor, but I knew I didn't want to become one nor did I have the potential to become one. She knew my interests lied in acting and that if I work hard I can definitely become a good actress. I realize I am offered with opportunities easily, but acting is still very hard and unless I ace that I'm not qualified as a good actress"
