Jan 27, 2014

Post Thalaivaa, Saivam is the upcoming project of director Vijay. Talking to us about the film, the director said, “Script is the hero of Saivam. Roosters form the back bone of the story.”

The film has a number of child artistes, including Baby Sara of Deiva Thirumagal fame. “Saivam is a children’s movie. So we are planning to release it during the summer holidays,” informs the director.

Vijay has also roped in Baasha, son of actor Nasser for the movie. “We were looking out for a new comer to play a teen age grandson for Nasser and when we came across Luthfudeen (Baasha’s original name) we were sure that he was the guy. The youngster plays an 18-year-old romantic and debutante Twara Desai plays his love interest.”

Nasser plays Baasha’s grandfather in Saivam. Talking about the veteran, Vijay said, “I have always been an ardent admirer of Nasser sir and most of my movies will have a character exclusively sketched for him. Even in 'Saivam' he plays a pivotal role of a grandfather who holds the film together.”

Meanwhile, the shoot for the movie has been wrapped up, with just a day’s patch work remaining. Vijay has produced the project under his home banner, Think Big Studios and his regulars, GV Prakash, cinematographer Nirav Shah and editor Antony are also part of it.
