The 60th National Awards has determined its winners and has announced the results for the same. As far as Tamil cinema is concerned Vazhakku En 18/9 has bagged the best Tamil Film award, the film has also fetched Raja the award for Best Make Up Artist. Art Director Lalgudi Ilayaraja has bagged the award for his work in Vishwaroopam. The other award going to Vishwaroopam is for Best Choreographer which went to Briju Maharaj.

Talking to Behindwoods, Art Director Ilayaraja thanked Kamal Haasan for giving him the opportunity to work on such a grand project. He also thanked prominent Art Director Sabu Cyril from whom he apparently learnt key aspects of the job. He is also very poised and grounded on hearing the news and believes that he just went about doing his job to the best of his abilities.

Poornima Ramaswamy from the crew of Bala’s Paradesi has won the award for Best Costume Designer.

SS Rajamouli’s Naan Ee/Eega has won the award for Best Visual Effects and it has also won the award for Best Telugu Film.

Paan Singh Tomar was chosen as the Best Feature Film, and its lead Irrfan Khan selected as the Best Actor along with Vikram Gokhale for a Marathi film Anumati.
