Major volcanic eruption forces closure of Bali airport

For the first time in more than half a century, the Mount Agung volcano in Bali, Indonesia has reportedly erupted. This caused the closure of the international airport, leaving over 400 flights cancelled and 60,000 travellers stranded.  Indonesia's tourism ministry has allegedly said that member hotels of the Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association will provide a night's free accommodation to guests affected by the airport closure. On Monday, Indonesian authorities ordered a mass evacuation of people from the danger zone close to the volcano.
