WOMAN ATTEMPTS SELF-IMMOLATION AT DINDIGUL COLLECTORATE

A 35-year-old woman reportedly attempted to set herself on fire at the district collectorate in Dindigul during the public grievances redressal meeting on Monday over harassment for usury. Police stopped the woman and poured water on her. She later gave her complaint to the district collector before leaving. Similarly, another 35-year-old woman named Selvi attempted self-immolation along with her two children alleging that her father chased them out and tried to appropriate her house. The district collector reportedly received the complaints and ordered necessary action.
