WHATSAPP RUMOUR ON CHILD SACRIFICE LEADS TO YOUTH’S DEATH

Eight people have been arrested in a case relating to a death of a north Indian youth in Gudiyattam of Vellore district. It is being learnt that there were a few WhatsApp forwards, which claimed that a group of north Indian youth were engaged in trafficking children and using them for human sacrifice. This created a flutter among the public who mercilessly bludgeoned the youth to death. Meanwhile, district Superintendent of Police Bagalavan issued a stern warning against sending forwards that incite violence. He further added that cops must be informed of suspicious activity and public should never take law into their hands.
