Update on Chennai’s second airport

The state government had earlier assured the Airports Authority of India (AAI) that a location for the second airport in Chennai will be identified by December-end. Recent reports suggest, a second airport may get delayed further as the land for the construction site is yet to be finalised. Notably, two sites near Madurantakam in Kancheepuram district and a site near Gummidipoondi were being considered by the government.
