According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, Chennai is the safest for women among the metropolitan cities in India. The report is based on the number of cases reported in local police stations and takes into account crimes such as rape, eve-teasing, molestation, kidnapping and abduction, demands for dowry and cruelty by husband and relatives. Chennai registered just 544 cases as crime against women. Delhi topped the list as the unsafe city for woman with 13,803 cases.
