As a lot of farmers opted to grow tomatoes this year due to less water usage and quick result, tomato production has grown huge this year. Scores of farmers reportedly dumped freshly harvested tomatoes into lakes, as tomato prices dropped from Rs 20 to Rs 2 per kg this month.
