HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION SUMMONS COPS WHO ATTACKED YOUTH

Recently, a video of a youth being attacked by traffic cops while his sister and mother helplessly watch went viral on social media. Reacting to the incident, the State Human Rights Commission has summoned two traffic cops attached to the Mambalam station for inquiry.

Of late, the state has been rocked by stories of insensitive handling of public by the cops so much that while speaking in the city on Wednesday in an event felicitating cops, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami asked them to treat people with dignity.
