The Chennai city police reportedly recommended the cancellation of 15,620 driving licences of which 6,421 driving licences were cancelled for drunk driving between the period of January 1 to December 10, 2017. Reports say, West Chennai (8,520) registered the highest number of drunk driving cases followed by South Chennai (8,017), North Chennai (4,107) and East Chennai (3,690).
