Following heavy rains, Tamil Nadu Minister S P Velumani reportedly assured that 95% of dredging along rivers in Chennai district is complete and almost 5,000 encroachments along Cooum and Adyar have been removed. “Our flood safety measures are better than that of developed countries such as US and London,” he added.
