A 42-year-old remand prisoner reportedly escaped from Vellore Central prison on Thursday. Reports say, he tied two poles together using a dhoti to climb a 20-foot tall compound wall. Later, he tied the dhoti to a nearby iron pole and climbed down. A team of 20 policemen are reportedly in search of the escaped prisoner. Notably, the man was arrested in connection with the murder of a woman.
