Maggi fails lab test in this district, Rs 62 lakh fine imposed

Nestle’s product Maggi has reportedly been fined Rs 45 lakh in Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh as the samples of its product when tested were found to be “sub-standard”. An additional Rs 17 lakh fine was also imposed on six distributors of the company. However, Nestle India responded to this by stating that Maggi was safe for consumption and called it ‘a case of application of incorrect standards.’
