Madras HC dismisses plea seeking removal of Jayalalithaa\'s portrait

While dismissing the plea by DMK seeking the removal of the late Tamil Nadu CM J Jyalalithaa’s portrait from the assembly, the Madras High Court reportedly said that there is no law that prohibits displaying pictures of people convicted for criminal offenses in public places.

 

Chief Justice Indira Banerjee, whose first bench was this case, along with Justice Abdul Quddhose also reportedly mentioned that the speaker has to decide on such matters.
