INDIGO PLANE'S TYRE BURSTS UPON LANDING: 31 FLIGHTS DIVERTED, 14 CANCELLED

In what became a massive chaos at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, an Indigo aircraft’s tyre burst while landing. The Indigo flight 6E 7117, which was from Tirupati suffered multiple tyre bursts at 10:04 pm on Wednesday.

As many as 31 flights were diverted and 14 flights were cancelled due to the incident. The four main gear wheels of the plane burst on landing making the aircraft immobile. This impacted operations at the airport until 2.22 pm on Thursday.
