The Central Pollution Control Board reportedly said that Chennai recorded the maximum night sound levels in 2017. According to a TOI report, Chennai was followed by Lucknow, Kolkata and Mumbai in recording high sound levels. Reports say, commercial areas including T Nagar, Perambur, Pallikaranai and Washermenpet recorded highest average levels of noise in 2017. Whereas, Guindy recorded a dip in average noise levels at night in 2017.
