The Tamil Nadu government has reportedly called for temporarily drivers and conductors. Reports say, those who have conductor licence and heavy vehicle licence can approach the respective offices and will be provided with employment on a daily wage basis on the spot. Notably, the Tamil Nadu transport employees announced a strike on Friday demanding a 2.57-time increase in salary.
