BREAKING: STERLITE INDUSTRIES PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Thootukudi district collector Sandeep Naduri today sealed the premises of Sterlite Industries. Media reports say that the copper plant has been sealed permanently and is prohibited from carrying any operations henceforth. A duplicate of the order indicating closure of the premises has been pasted on the gates of the plant.

The closure of the plant happened amidst heavy police security and people were seen bursting crackers in celebration.
