Banks declared holiday on April 2

Following a request by the Reserve Bank of India, the Tamil Nadu government has announced April 2 (Monday) as a holiday for banks, instead of April 1 which falls on a Sunday. Reports say, this decision was arrived at since the annual auditing at banks takes place on the first of April month.
