Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has a phenomenal record playing in the West Indies in the past. He has played 11 matches against the Caribbeans and picked up 60 wickets at an average of 21.85. Additionally, he also holds a strike rate of 46.2 against the windies.

R Ashwin to take fastest 350 wickets in test cricket- record

Ashwin's last outing against West Indies in 2016 was one of the milestones in his career in which he claimed 17 wickets. He was also awarded the Man of the Series for his incredible performance.

After sealing a convincing 318-run victory in the 1st test, team India looks forward to playing the 2nd Test match in Kingston that begins on August 30 (Friday). If Ashwin gets picked in the playing XI, he will get the biggest opportunity to equal Srilankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan's record of fastest 350 wickets in Test Cricket.

Ashwin is just 8 wickets away from becoming the fastest bowler to reach 350 Wickets in Test Cricket. In that case, his record will be tied with Muttiah Muralitharan who also took 66 matches to reach the massive feat.

With the biggest record at stake, it is crucial that R Ashwin gets picked up in the team as he was excluded in the first Test match in which India played with three pace bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja being the only spin option.
