The Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first in the big finals to put up a score on the board.

CSK vs MI - Mid innings report

They got off to a good start with Quinton De Kock taking on the bowlers as they got a 45 runs partnership in 4.5 overs. Both openers fell quickly after that as the innings slowed down from there on. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan tried to rebuild the innings and in the process, they slowed down the scoring rate. Yadav got 15 from 17 balls and Kishan got 23 from 26 balls before they lost their wickets. Krunal Pandya was sent in at number 5 but that didn't work as he fell early as well.

With 5 overs left, MI had 102 on board with Hardik Pandya and Pollard at the crease and they had a lot of work to do. They got 8 runs of the 16th over and 10 runs of the 17th over. Suresh Raina dropped Hardik Pandya in the 2nd ball of the 18th over and looked like a chance that will cost them. Pollard and Hardik Pandya started to get going in the 18th over as they got 16 runs from it. In the 19th over, Chahar bowled brilliantly as he conceded just 4 runs and picked up 2 wickets including that of Hardik Pandya. Bravo to Pollard is always a contest to watch out for and there was a lot of entertainment in the last over. Bravo was focused on bowled wide yorkers and was executing it very well. Pollard after struggling in the first 4 balls finished with 2 boundaries in the last 2 balls and took MI to 149 in the 20 overs.

CSK bowlers did a great job, particularly Deepak Chahar and Tahir excelled in the big game today. The other bowlers did a good job as well and would feel this score is chasable.

However, any score in a Final with the pressure can be a good score and MI will definitely make it tough for CSK. It will be a very interesting chase.
