PA RANJITH REVEALS WHAT HE DISCUSSED WITH RAHUL GANDHI

Tamil film director Pa Ranjith on Tuesday met Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. Actor Kalaiarasan was also present at the meeting. Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday tweeted pictures of himself with the duo and wrote, “We talked about politics, films and society.”

Later, the filmmaker responded to Rahul Gandhi’s tweet and thanked him for hosting them. He wrote, “Important meeting with @RahulGandhi about politics & art. Discussed caste & religious bias threatening the core of our secular constitution.Thanks for having me over Sir. Looking forward for our discussion taking shape. A national leader engaging with people from all ideologies is very encouraging!”

Pa Ranjith also sought Rahul’s views on the release of Perarivalan, convict in Rajiv Gandhi assassination, and asked if the Congress leader had any objection to the release, reports said quoting the filmmaker. The Kaala director also reportedly added that Rahul said he had no objection to the release of Perarivalan, who has been jailed for 27 years.
