Centre extends deadline for mandatory linking of Aadhaar to govt schemes

The Union government on Wednesday reportedly informed the Supreme Court that the deadline for mandatory linking of Aadhaar to avail government schemes has been extended to March 31, 2018. The Centre will take no coercive action against those who do not possess Aadhaar and will not deny social welfare scheme benefits to them till March 31, Advocate General K K Venugopal reportedly informed the top court.
