20 billion messages sent through WhatsApp on New Year's eve in India

Facebook owned messaging app WhatsApp reportedly revealed that users in India sent over 20 billion messages on December 31. WhatsApp also revealed that over 75 billion messages were sent world wide on New Year’s Eve. Notably, WhatsApp suffered an outage lasting more than an hour in the early hours from January 1, 2018.
