All is well starring Rishi Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Asin” - For a layman who has neither an idea on what this film is nor knows the delay story and glitches behind the film, this sentence surely manages to excite! Fortunately or unfortunately, nowadays we hardly see audience who belongs to the above stated category, as everybody has all film related trivias in their fingertips.

All is well failed to create that anticipation or excitement for the audience in its pre-release phase. Though it opened to a good number of audience, they might return with the same dull mood post the watch!

All is well is a tale trying to reiterate the value of family and bonding. To simplify the story gets summed up with Asin’s dialogue to Abhishek which is roughly translated as, “You are wearing a spectacle that shows only negative and sad things”

The story line is apparently simple and novel but the elements that were tailored to make it a commercial package fails at its purpose! Keeping packaging as an issue at one end, lack of usage of the highly potential star cast stands as another major drawback.

Cliched humour elements, unentertaining song sequences, loosely bound narrative structure make All is well feel the languor of time. The one and only relief point in the entire film is the song ‘Nachan Farrate’ where Sonakshi Sinha sizzles with her hot looks and moves. Thanks to Sonakshi! Special mention to Supriya Pathak, who plays Abhishek’s mother affected by Alzheimer's, unflinchingly delivers a genuine performance.

Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub who has previously appeared in more meritorious characters plays the dumb villain in the form of a goon. His track is highly paradoxical. One is disturbed with his silly humor tracks but on the other hand realises that sans Mohammed, there would be absolutely nothing to hold back the audience.

Asin unfortunately gets a role which holds no interest or admiration of the hero. The value of this character is highly questionable. Here and there this South Indian diva manages to glow with her performance, especially in the emotional ones. Abhishek Bachchan has an innate swag, many directors unfortunately fail at utilising that in favour of their narration. It is the similar case in this film too!

All technical aspects like cinematography, editing and overall production design are moderate. Music could have definitely boosted this film but sadly misfires in its attempt to do so. To sum up, All is well though had its room to be better and more entertaining, evidently is abortive!

Verdict: Alas! All is NOT well!
