SOGGADE CHINNI NAYANA SONGS REVIEW

Soggade Chinni Nayana is an upcoming family entertainer starring Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles. Music for the film is composed by Anoop Rubens, who gave a memorable album Manam for Nagarjuna earlier.  The film is directed by debutante Kalyan Krishna.

The most anticipated release of this season begins on a rustic note with the folk lines of Nagarjuna himself transporting the listener to the pristine rural life. Usage of ghatam and funky treble gives the song a fresh feel and here is a winner! Dhanunjay’s sultry vocals and Mohana Bhogaraju’s peppy voice also works perfectly for this number. Bhaskarabhatla focuses on the forgotten fun lives of villages and delivers masterly lines!

A typical Anoop Rubens style melody arrives next in the sweetest voice of Shreya Ghoshal. The song has a conversational approach between an affectionate husband and wife and Dhanunjay delivers par excellence as well. Usage of mild guitars and neat violins is another huge asset for this song. In the era of fast paced numbers laden with too much noise, this song is a breather!

The laid back mode continues with another lovely melody this time by masterly Hariharan. The track has vintage feel associated with it and rightly topped with Rama Jogayya Sastry’s unpretentious lyrics. The dholak gives it an old time feel and it is aided with tribal flute as well. Kousalya also joins this breezy number adding an own vigor through her voice.

The duet version arrives in female solo version in the talented voice of Malavika. However, the real highlight here is the brilliant lyrics by Rama Jogayya Sastry which deliver a different emotion for the same tune, in contrast with the happy mood for the earlier duet.

The finale occurs with a rustic celebration and fun with an indigenous party number. The song is essentially led by chorus which also has the lyrics about the handsome looks of Akkineni family and thoroughly enjoyable. It has been ages to have a Telugu song which has the untarnished rustic feel hailing the hero, and this does the job perfectly!
