J Mahendran and Ilayaraja to team up

Any true Tamil film buff’s definite favorite film is Udhiri Pookkal directed by J Mahendran, a film that hit the screens in 1979 which had Vijayan, Ashwini, Sarath Babu and many others. The climax of the film is still talked about for its extraordinary feel. Mahendran, after his Saasanam with Arvind Swami and Gauthami, took a sabbatical from the field.

But, there is good news for all his fans as he would be starting his next project to be funded by Moovender Productions. What is more interesting is maestro Ilayaraja will be scoring music for Mahendran’s film. This combo has given amazing films like Johnny, Nenjathai Killadhe and Udhiri Pookkal and the news that they would be teaming up after a long while has created a lot of positive buzz.

The cast and crew details will be out soon. Sanjay will wield the camera and Mu Kasi Viswanathan will be handling the editing. The film is set to go on floors in March.
