The two weeks ban on Vishwaroopam was lifted by the High Court last night, following which the Government re-appealed this morning. The case came up for hearing today before the First Bench chaired by the Active Chief Justice Elipe Dharma Rao and Justice Aruna Jagadeesan.

After a heated argument at the High Court today, the First Bench proposed the alternative to Kamal’s lawyers to file a writ petition on Monday.  The Bench has also requested the single Judge to take up all writ petitions filed in this case on February 6^th or any date at his convenience to dispose them.

This means that Vishwaroopam will not hit the screens at least until next Wednesday. The case was pushed to next week, even after a plea from Kamal’s lawyer, who pointed out that delaying the release further would lead to a terrible financial crisis for Kamal Haasan.

It must also be noted that Kamal Haasan had a meeting with a section of Muslim leaders including J.M.Haroon after which Kamal is said to have agreed to cut some scenes in Vishwaroopam to accommodate their requests.

Whatever it is, the fans and the actor are one disappointed lot to put it mildly!
