Mahabharata
is the upcoming and latest directorial venture
of Rituparno Ghosh in Hindi. Rituparno Ghosh
is a renowned director for sensitive portrayal
of human emotions and feelings. Contemporary
themes have always been his forte.
Hence
it comes as a surprise to his fans
that he would be directing a historical
and mythological theme that too as
ancient as the Mahabharata. This would
be his maiden venture in a historical
segment.
This film is expected to be told from
Draupadi’s perspective. In other
words, the film may have some bitter
elements for the men folk. Readers
may be surprised to note that Bipasha
Basu would be assaying the role of
Draupadi. Going by the sexy on screen
image that the sulky seductress possesses,
it has definitely surprised the Bollywood
circles.
Her
real life beau would drape the role of
Arjuna. In addition to Bipasha and John,
veteran artists Shahbana Azmi and Nazruddin
Shah will don the role of Kunti and Dridarashtira
