Vijay does a Vaali
By Behindwoods News Bureau.
November 07, 2007
Vijay's much awaited Deepavali release Azhagiya Tamil Magan is just a day away and the buzz around it from the distributors in the US is that it is one of the most stylish and engrossing movies of Vijay in recent times. All the six songs have come out really well and a visibly impressed Rahman was all praise of the way his tracks have been picturized.
Shriya & Vijay

Vijay's role with slight streaks of grey, a new avatar which has not been done by him till date, is sure to impress his fans. The 'Madhuraikku Pogaaadhadi' song is already on air as a part of the Reliance ring tone promos is supposed to have come out very well. Exhibitors in the US have been receiving calls from far and wide for tickets from his fans in the US who are willing to travel up to 50 miles to catch a glimpse of their Ilaya Thalapathi setting the silver screen ablaze.

Meanwhile back home, there are widespread speculations about ATM's story which are doing the rounds. Director Bharathan has come out in the open to clear all such guesswork regarding the storyline of his film. While speaking to our correspondent, he said "Some sections of the media have been stating that ATM is inspired from 'Final Destination' and that Vijay is wielding a super natural power in the film. But it is totally baseless. It is true that Vijay is doing a dual role of a kind that the Tamil cinema has never witnessed hitherto and one of them plays a cop with special powers while the other has negative shades to it. I can't reveal more, you will have to catch it in the theatres."

In Tami cinema, every established actor at some point of time in his career while trying to bring versatility to his roles has tried negative characters. In the recent times, Vaali had garnered a lot of acclaim for Ajith especially the role of the muted elder brother which had proved to be a career defining role both for him and director Surya. Going by the past record, it looks like ATM will also prove to be a career break for the Ilaya Thalapathy. All the Best to ATM and its crew.
