A movie in blue and green- also few records tumbling!

It’s just a question of observation. Well, you know, if you wanted to notice anything about this movie then you would have. But that’s ok. It’s not too late, go back and check out the stills of Saawariya. Well, there’s lot more than Rani Mukherjee, Salman Khan and two young people in love to notice.
Om Shanti Om

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last movie was called Black. Well, we suppose it could have been called Black and White because for most of the movie there were no colors other than black or white on screen. The costumes, the light, the snow, everything was so devoid of color yet so beautiful. This time too Sanjay has once again showed his changing favoritism towards just one or two colors. So, going back to the stills of Saawariya- the thing you had to notice were the common colors: blue and green. Every single still has a shade of blue or green in varying degrees of intensity and angles. The common thread of blue and green however is undeniable. All the stills cannot be possibly taken from a song or a scene. That is enough to suggest that blue and green will be on screen for a major part of the movie. The colors and the way they have been used appear pleasing. So there is no reason to complain. And; one more point- Sanjay seems to favor blue over green. In the end it seems that he has used more blue than green.

Now, over to the other Deepavali release: Om Shanthi Om which has broken a few records even before advance bookings opened. Want to know how? It is a new marketing technique called pre-advanced booking and the corporates are falling over each other to block tickets for their employees and families. You see, employee satisfaction means a lot to these MNCs. The result is that two days before advanced bookings opened 18000 tickets have been sold out in Delhi alone. The count from other major centers like Mumbai has not yet come in. So, profits even before advanced bookings opened, that’s something new.
