First film to be shot at the Bhumibol Palace

Manjal Veyil is an upcoming film directed by Raja and produced by Syed on behalf of Hasini pictures. Prasanna and Sandhya are the lead artists of the film besides a host of other seasoned actors. Recently the crew was stationed at Bangkok to can a few shots there.

While discussing about Manjal Veyil the director says that it has been filmed in exotic locales of the country especially at Bhumibol palace where generally permissions are not rendered for film shootings. Raja adds, “This place is considered as Bangkok’s Godfather and we had mentioned to the authorities that we are going to depict their culture and tradition through our film and we were allowed to shoot.” Raja was quick to point out that this is the first time a film has been permitted to shoot inside the palace.

Beside the palace the unit has shot a song sequence in an island which is 300 kilometers from the main land. One more interesting fact about Manjal Veyil is that the heroine Sandhya has sung a song for the film. Music for the film is being scored by Bharatwaj who was impressed by Sandhya’s capabilities as a singer and had asked her to sing a number. The actress turned singer also had reportedly sung the number well.
