One more good news for Rajini fans!

One more good news for Rajini fans- the upcoming Super Star starrer Sivaji gets a complete tax waiver. This comes in the wake of Tamil Nadu government announcing some time back that (Tamil) films with Tamil titles will be given entertainment tax rebate. This declaration resulted in almost all the films turning out in chaste Tamil titles and enjoying the benefit of tax waiver too.

Meanwhile there was a debate in legislative assembly about the ‘Tamilness’ of the name Sivaji and members were questioning if this film was eligible to get a concession on tax. Producer of Sivaji had even approached the concerned department wondering if they would lose such benefit. After the necessary assurance from them AVM had confirmed the title.

Meanwhile the film was submitted to the controller of commercial tax department for tax rebate after procuring the Censor board approval. It has been certified that Sivaji being a proper noun, it is eligible for total tax waiver. On similar grounds Maddy-Bhavana starrer Arya is also likely to get this benefit.
