We had told you that a warrant had
been issued by Arcot Magistrate
on actor Vijay in a case relating
to the dialogues defaming lawyers
in the film Sivakasi. The petitioner
had stated that Vijay, comedian
Baskar, director Perarasu and producer
A.M. Rathnam had caused injury to
the sentiments of the learned community
and demanded an apology. Vijay and
others did not appear in the court
despite repeated summons. Last week,
a warrant had been issued. Responding
to this, Vijay filed a petition
in the court seeking cancellation
of the warrant.
