many these days, show biz is all about making
money and hogging fame for as long as it
lasts. Some of the savvy lot, venture out
into other profitable businesses and add
to their already bulging bank balances.
There are only a handful of actors who support
charitable causes by giving their time and
money. Today’s glam babes are busy
making hay while the sun shines. |

It was therefore refreshingly different
to see a young actress beat a bold
new path in this age of cutthroat
competition to lower the necklines
and raise the hemlines. We are talking
about Pooja, who took time off to
attend an event held by World Vision
India. WVI has been working in the
area of helping underprivileged children
by a unique scheme of sponsoring them.
There are several celebrities like
tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, media
person Rajdeep Sardesai and many others
who sponsor a child through the WVI
network. |

Talking about her decision she said,
”There are several children
who need our support to survive. I
have always wanted to help the poor
in some manner. This will give me
a chance to help a girl so that her
dreams are realized. I will sponsor
her studies and she can study as much
as she wants.”
She also appealed to kindhearted persons
to approach WVI to support its efforts.
