Vaali,
the renowned Tamil lyricist has been
awarded with the prestigious Padmashree
along with various luminaries this
year. Padma awards are being conferred
to honour people for the services
rendered by them in their respective
fields of interest. These awards are
announced every year on the 26th January.
Vaali
can be rightly called as the Jambavan of Kollywood
who has penned more than a thousand lyrics for
Tamil films. Though a septuagenarian, his lyrics
never reflect his age. On the contrary, they always
effervesce with youthful vigor.
Vaali not only shone in filmi lyrics, but also
in epic creations like Ramanuja Kaviyam, Krishna
Vijayam, Pandavar Bhoomi, Avataara Purushan etc
which was published in leading Tamil magazines.
His stylish writings are highly contemporary and
at the same time not compromising on the content.
This has remained his forte. Though a revolutionary,
his works have never hurt anyone. Our heartfelt
congratulations to this remarkable poet.
