While talking to the media about his film, Agathiyan states, “Love is all about understanding each other and my film is an emotional potboiler between two people in love. But for the similarity in title with the Mahendran directed film, the new Nenjathai Killathe has no connection with the earlier one whatsoever. I have crafted the film with a new perspective especially the story and screenplay and looked at things differently”.

While discussing his blockbuster film Kadhal Kottai and comparing it with the new one, he says, “Kaadal Kottai characters Kamali (Devayani) and Surya (Ajith) were talked about for a long time and the climax of the film struck a note with the audience. Similarly, the climax of Nenjathai Killathe also will transcend the time and will be etched in viewer’s mind”. He also quickly added that Nenjathai Killathe climax will run for 22 minutes where through a song, he has portrayed the nature of the lead players in the film and has also offered a solution to their problems.
