film’s next project is Marudamalai
with Action King Arjun. When Anushka
of Rendu fame was approached to feature
as the heroine in this film, she is
alleged to have refused the offer.
She has cited many reasons for her
refusal. Primarily, she is being compensated
better in Telugu films. According
to her, this is a major attribute
which has to be considered.
Secondly,
the publicity for a film and its allied products
are more intense in Telugu Desam than in Tamil.
The producers do not hesitate to spend for the
promos and take a lot of pictures and promote
the artiste. This sure is likely to tilt the balance
in the artiste’s favour. At the producer’s
expense, the artiste gets a lot of free publicity.
Hence it is only natural that Anushka prefers
Telugu films to Tamil ones.
