like it is not an easy task to get
our lead heroines to perform an item
number. The ladies seem to have formed
a certain set of guidelines and go
by them before they make sure that
they are dancing to the tunes of the
item number. This is not to fluster
the producer, on the other hand, only
to ensure that their reputation is
not spoilt – makes sense?

and foremost, the heroines want to know under
what circumstances the song appears in the movie.
After receiving a convincing answer, the next
question will be passed on as to will the hero
be dancing alongside? The bombardment of questions
follows right after. Where would the song be shot?
Outdoors or in the sets? The question will range
from details such as who will be the dance master,
musician, and costume designer of the song.
Finally, a research on the song – to examine
the lyrics for their obscenity will be done. If
all the answers were positive, the glam dolls
nod a yes for the item song after which the other
details will be discussed upon.
So, the next time if you see a lead girl performing
an item number in a movie, do not think it has
come as just a piece of cake for the producer.
