The makers of Aran had to go through some tense moments when the leading star, Mohanlal, created ripples with his comments about the dubbing issue in the Tamil version. The film deals with the enormous challenges faced by the armed forces protecting our borders. Mohanlal and Jeeva play members of a crack commando force involved in anti-terrorist operations.

The film has been shot realistically thanks due to the painstaking effort of the director Major Ravi who has won several medals for distinguished service.
