Ameer-Seeman refused bail

The latest on the Ameer-Seeman arrest is that they will not get bail. They had appealed at the Ramanathapuram police station, but were turned down. Both directors had been arrested for speaking out against Sri Lankan army atrocities against Tamils. The police took the directors in custody and put them in the Madurai jail.

When they asked for bail, they were turned down, saying unless the government itself pardoned them, they will have to be in jail until there court hearing comes up on the 31st. Bharathiraja, Sathyaraja, Parthiban, R.K. Selvamani, Bala and Cheran visited them in the Madurai jail recently, and said they would do their best to have them released from custody.
