Seeman and Ameer back

Directors Seeman and Ameer were arrested on 24th October 2008 for delivering a speech that was detrimental to the sovereignty of India. It may be recalled that Ameer and Seeman’s speech during the protest against the killings on innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka put them in deep trouble. However, the directors were released from custody on conditional

bail on 30th October. But as per the conditions, they were not allowed to venture out of Madurai and had to present themselves at the police station in Madurai to sign everyday.

However, their travails came to an end yesterday (25th November, 2008) with the Ramanathpuram Sessions Court relaxing their conditional bail. According to the advocates of Ameer and Seeman, the court relaxed the conditions as both were established directors busy with their projects. At present Ameer is producing and acting in the film Yogi. With the bail conditions being relaxed, it looks like Ameer will travel to Chennai and recommence the work.
