ones with MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, particularly
Aayirathil Oruvan and Ambikapathi respectively.
It was Bhagyaraj who had him play a character
role and not a villain in Thooral Ninu Pochu.
Sridhar, who passed away recently, was another
favorite director of his, and he was memorable
in Nenjam Marappathillai. We all know the
accent with which he spoke Tamil (many have
mimicked it), but that only endeared himself
more to the audience. The industry, and
we his fans and audience, will miss him
