The recently released
Hindi film Housefull directed by Sajid Khan
and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala featuring
Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ritesh Deshmukh,
Lara Dutta and others was in the centre of
a controversy as the film was said to be based
on the Kamal’s Tamil film Kaadhala Kaadhala
produced by P L Thenappan.
A complaint was lodged in the Producer’s
Council against Sajid Nadiadwala by Thenappan.
He rued that there was no credit given to
the original in Housefull and he was also
not informed about the same. Talks were
going on between the two parties and finally
it was decided to accord 2 crores to Thenappan
as compensation.
