Oscar
winner AR Rahman was felicitated
with a golden crown by veteran singer
P Suseela in a function recently.
The event was held in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the function, Rahman
said that it was the Telugu music
directors that helped him out when
he was under severe economic pressure.
AR Rahman said that his first job
was with the Telugu music director
Ramesh Naidu before accepting an
offer from maestro Ilayaraja. The
music director also revealed that
well-known producer G. Rami Reddy
offered him a house in the posh
Banjara Hills area in Hyderabad
about 10 years ago if Rahman wished
to settle down in the city. Rahman
said that he still feels close to
the Telugu film industry for all
their goodness. |
