director Priyadarshan, in an interview to
a national daily, has said that the government
“never really assisted cinema.”
However, the director pointed out that Tamil
and Telugu film industries are better off
as it gets enough support from the government.
He also rued that a politician, though not
very keen on helping the industry, never fails
to sign up a star to perform at their family
function.
Priyan also lamented about the ungrateful
attitude that prevails in the film industry.
He added that he has come to understand not
to expect gratitude when the general trend
happens to be convenience and existence.
